The 2015 Ballon d’Or finalist could team-up with the former Barcelona boss one more time once the season ends.

Long have speculations been linking Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi with a move to the English Premier League, but could the upcoming summer window finally see the transfer rumors come true?

According to the Daily Express, with Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola destined for a move to England, the four-time Ballon d’Or winner could join up with the former Blaugrana manager.

The Spanish tactician, one of football’s most admired active managers, revealed recently that he will pack his bags and head over to the Premier League once the season comes to an end, having previously announced his plan to exit the Allianz Arena.

Despite setting up a lovely understanding with Luis Suarez and Neymar in the deadly MSN attacking trio, one which has seen them conquer La Liga, the Champions League, and the FIFA Club World Cup, persistent tax evasion charges may result in La Pulga seeking refuge in another league.

On the pitch, Leo has enjoyed resurgence – albeit it was interrupted by injury in September – with the 28-year-old returning to the summit of club football having lost the Ballon d’Or race to rival Cristiano Ronaldo in the two consecutive seasons that passed.

Guardiola, though sought after by Man United and Chelsea as well, looks destined for Man City, with current manager Manuel Pellegrini all but admitting defeat in the fight to keep his job.

This means Messi could find himself at the Etihad for the 2016-17 season, something fitting given that Man City are one of a few privileged clubs able to mount a bid enough to trigger the player’s €250m buyout clause.

Furthermore, with Sergio Aguero, Pablo Zabaleta, Martin Demichelis, and Nicolas Otamendi playing for the Citizens, the Argentine core may prove to tempting to resisit.
