Luis Van Gaal has been given his final ultimatum by Man United's executives, if the latest reports from England are true.

Reports from England suggest that Manchester United manager Luis Van Gaal has been given two games to provide positive results or face the sack. According to The Guardian, Van Gaal now faces an acid test against Premier League sides Stoke City and Chelsea. Failure to win those two crucial matches, the Dutch tactician will be shown the door at Old Trafford.

Manchester United face Stoke City on Boxing Day and Chelsea two days later, hence giving the Red Devils little time to rest. The former Ajax and Barcelona tactician will be forced to work around the clock to ensure two crucial wins for the clubs, despite facing major injury problems and a visibly blunt attack.

The Guardian further reports that the Glazer family has insisted that United must be serious title contenders this season, something that is bound to give the 64-year-old sleepless nights in the next few days. Now that Jose Mourinho is readily available and several media reports continue to link him with a possible move to Old Trafford, Van Gaal has to burn the midnight oil to find a lasting solution to his team’s recent poor form- in less than a week- or lose his job.
