Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud provided a heroic performance against Sunderland, despite scoring an own goal a few minutes before half time.

The France international cancelled Joel Campbell’s goal for Arsenal by scoring an own goal through a free kick awarded to Sunderland before half time. However, despite letting his teammates and fans down with the unfortunate own goal, Giroud recovered from the mistake to score the second goal for the Gunners and Aaron Ramsey scored the third to hand Arsene Wenger a 3-1 victory over San Allardyce.

Arsenal are now second in the Premier League log with 30 points, two behind league leaders Leicester City, who dismissed Swansea 3-0.
