The center back has been linked to a move away from the yellow-and-black side, something that was dismissed by the team's sports VP.

Manchester United fans that were getting excited about Mats Hummels joining their team might want to reconsider, since their hopes have been handed a serious blow by Hans-Joachim Watzke.

According to Borussia Dortmund's exec, Hummels has not handed a transfer request, as some sources indicated. Nevertheless, Watzke acknowledged Hummels is "not easy to deal with", but remains fully committed to succeed with the yellow and black side.

"That’s definitely not true.Mats Hummels is a very important player for us. He is our captain. I have an excellent relationship with him. Sometimes he is not too easy, but that does not have to be a disadvantage. He is a very decent guy, and we will support him entirely. There is nothing more to say about it," Watzke stated.

Sources close to the team revealed a falling out between Hummels and Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel, which sparked the rumors about the player's future with the club. Watzke in fact was adamant about Hummels' influence with the team, and even went on to guarantee the German International's presence against Krasnodar tomorrow.
