Manchester City and Liverpool are set to clash on Saturday 21, November at the Etihad Stadium.

Ahead of the epic clash on Saturday, Liverpool have renewed hopes of providing a good performance against their weekend rivals after star striker Daniel Sturridge declared himself fit for the match. The England international has suffered serious injury problems this season restricting him to just three appearances so far.

Sturridge, 26, suffered a knee injury on the eve of Jurgen Klopp’s first assignment as Liverpool manager against Spurs. Since then, he has missed the last seven matches for Liverpool. The deadly goal-poacher, however, returned to full training at Melwood at the beginning of the week and has been oozing with confidence ahead of the difficult fixture against The Citizens.

During the launch of Liverpool’s retail Signature collection on Wednesday night, the former Chelsea man told Liverpoolfc.com:

“I’m fit and ready to go and it’s going to be a great time for me,”

“It’s been great under the new manager. I’ve been back training for the past couple of days and I was training when he first arrived.’’

He concluded:

“It’s an exciting time to be at the club and I’m enjoying working with him and the style of football. It’s important for us to understand what he wants us to do.”

Klopp’s men have only managed to score 13 goals so far this season and the return of Sturiddge, who has a solid history of scoring in his first game after returning from injury, is a major boost for the Reds. Although he may not feature in the first eleven, he could start as a substitute to provide the much-needed support for the Anfield side as they look to rise above the tenth position in the Premier League table.
