U.S. Men’s National Team’s First 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifying Contest vs. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines; Four UEFA EURO 2016 Qualifying Playoff Matches; International Friendlies Featuring Top-Ranked Teams – Belgium, Germany, Spain, Portugal, England, Italy, and more

The U.S. Men’s National Team will begin the campaign for its eighth straight FIFA World Cup appearance Friday, Nov. 13, vs. St. Vincent and the Grenadines, live from Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Mo., at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2 and WatchESPN. The USA-St. Vincent and the Grenadines match will be the first World Cup qualifying contest in St. Louis since USA-El Salvador on Nov. 5, 1989. The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia.

ESPN’s lead soccer commentator team of Ian Darke and analyst Taylor Twellman, a native of St. Louis, will call the match. Bob Ley and Kasey Keller will host pre-and post-game SportsCenter segments, as well as halftime.

Also, the UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying series returns to ESPN networks (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes and ESPN3) with the remaining eight teams competing in a playoff for the final four berths to compete in the UEFA European Football Championship 2016 in France. Coverage of the qualifying playoff matches begins Friday, Nov. 13 at 2:30 p.m. with Bosnia Herzegovina vs. Ireland on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes. (ESPN will have exclusive coverage of UEFA EURO 2016, June 10-July10.)

Highlights:

·         Jon Champion (play-by-play) and analyst Tommy Smyth will call the UEFA EURO 2016 Qualifying Playoff match featuring Bosnia-Herzegovina vs. Ireland on Friday, Nov. 13, on ESPN2 at 2:30 p.m. Ricardo Ortiz and Andrés Agulla will provide Spanish-language commentary on ESPN Deportes;

·         On Saturday, Nov. 14, Tito Puccetti and Rodrigo Villalonga will handle commentary for Ukraine vs. Slovenia on ESPN Deportes at 11:50 a.m.;  

·         The Hungary-Norway UEFA EURO 2016 Qualifying Playoff match on Sunday, Nov. 15, at 2:30 p.m. will feature commentators Champion and Stewart Robson (ESPN), and Jorge Barril and Andrés Marocco (ESPN Deportes);

·         Richard Méndez and 1978 FIFA World Cup champions Mario Kempes will call Denmark vs. Sweden on ESPN Deportes, while Champion and Twellman will handle commentary on ESPN2, Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 2:30;

·         Destino Francia, ESPN Deportes’ primary UEFA EURO 2016 studio program, will air pregame editions leading into all live EURO 2016 qualifying matches during the FIFA international match week – Nov. 13-17.  

·         During FIFA match week, ESPN FC (ESPNEWS, 6 p.m. weekdays / ESPN2, 12 a.m. Sunday) will air extensive highlights from the day’s UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying matches, 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying and international friendly matches. The nation’s only daily soccer news, highlights and analysis television program will also air halftime and post-match editions during select match telecasts.
