The Argentinean striker revealed that coach Gerard Martino was not to blame for his injury, revealing he came down with it during the game against Ecuador and not before it started.

The recently concluded International break left bad news for Manchester City's fans, since Sergio "Kun" Agüero left Argentina's first game of the South American World Cup Qualifiers with an injury. To make matters worse, the player has revealed his injury could take longer to heal than initially expected, forcing him to miss the team's next seven games.

"I hope I can be there against Brazil, but the injury must be let to recover a bit so there is no relapse. This is an injury you have to recover bit by bit but of course I want to be back quickly,” Agüero stated.

During his most recent performances with the Sky Blues, "El Kun" bagged five goals in 20 minutes.

The 27-year old dismissed that coach Gerardo Martino had anything to do with him being injured, since he did not feel anything was wrong with his left leg.

"These things happen, it's not his fault. I left the pitch during a Champions League match feeling a little sore, but I recovered to play with the team. During the game in which I scored five goals, Pellegrini decided to substitute me just to be cautious. I felt a lot better, I came down here and trained with the team. I felt OK during the week and I had no idea this could happen, but it ended up happening," Aguero added.

If Agüero's prediction is accurate, the striker would miss the EPL matches against Bournemouth, Norwich City, Manchester United and Aston Villa. Furthermore, "El Kun" would be absent when the Citizens play both UEFA Champions League games against Sevilla. Finally, the Argentinean would miss the Capital One Cup clash against Crystal Palace.
