Javier Hernández, Oribe Peralta and Paul Aguilar scored for El Tri, while Geoff Cameron & Bobby Wood made it tight for the Americans

Mexico and the U.S. fought for 120 minutes and seemed to be ready to decide the CONCACAF title from the spot, when right back Paul Aguilar struck the ball with only two minutes left in extra time to send it into the back of Brad Guzan's net, starting chaos among fans at the Rose Bowl. With this win, Mexico won the right to represent the region in the 2017 Confederations Cup.

Aguilar's shot won the first game for Mexico against the U.S. in six games, also breaking Jurgen Klinsmann's unbeaten streak facing El Tri.

Mexico's fans exploded with joy after defeating their most hated opponent. Here are some of their comments.

"Hey Donald, did you like Paul Aguilar's goal?"

"Fifth goal for Paul Aguilar for El Tri. His last came against Trinidad & Tobago three months ago."
