One of the most respected voices in the history of the USMNT has spoken, and Jurgen Klinsmann should be worried about it. Forme strker Landon Donovan referred to Klinsi's job as the Unite States' soccer coach, and Donovan believes the German coach should step down if things don't go their way against Mexico.
"Around the world, if a player plays poorly and a player has a bad string of results, they get dropped from the team. Well, the same holds true for the coach, and so we had a very poor summer with bad results in the Gold Cup. The last game against Brazil was probably the worst game I've seen them play under Jurgen,"Donovan recalled.

"The reality is that now, anywhere else in the world, if this coach had those results, and they lose this game against Mexico, they'd be fired. I think if Jurgen wants to hold all the players to that standard, then he has to be held to that standard too,"Donovan stated.
Donovan's relationship with Klinsmann was deteriorated after the German coach left "Captain America" out of the 23-man squad that played in last year's World Cup. In fact, Jonathan Klinsmann set social media on fire after making fun of the striker's absence in the team.
Klinsmann's son had to apologize for mocking Donovan.
The USMNT will face Mexico this Saturday for the CONCACAF Cup. The winner will represent the region in the 2017 Confederations Cup.
