Rumors linked the Blaugrana ace with an Old Trafford switch, but no concrete offer was made.

Barcelona superstar Neymar has admitted that rumors linking him to English Premier League giants Manchester United were true.

The Brazilian attacker, however, revealed that though the Red Devils’ interest in him was real, no concrete offers were made for the 23-year-old.

As the 2015 summer transfer window drew closer to deadline day, reports claiming Louis Van Gaal’s team were in for the Selecao captain hit the papers.

A world-class attacker was in dire need at Old Trafford. Nonetheless, a move never materialized, though it seemed highly unlikely to push through from the get-go, as United eventually setled for French youngster Anthony Martial.

“We had conversations, but there was nothing concrete,” Neymar said. “I heard that there were offers, but none made it to me.”

"I want to keep giving my all and evolve season to season. I hope I will be on the Ballon d'Or podium this year."

Neymar, who arrived at Camp Nou in 2013, will thus soon enter contract negotiations being his third season with the club, as stipulated in his contract.

The former Santos ace is looking to become the Blaugrana’s second-highest paid player, behind Lionel Messi, with the hopes of sealing a new £200,000-a-week deal.

However, the player remains adamant that he is committed to Barcelona no matter what, and that he wishes to continue to grow in order to one day reach the level of Messi and Ronaldo.

"I want to keep giving my all and evolve season to season. I hope I will be on the Ballon d'Or podium this year."
