Four years after his departure from London giants Chelsea, the Italian manager has reportedly been contacted over the prospect of taking over this English club.

Former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is a high profile manager out of job (aka sabbatical), so it comes as little surprise that the Italian is being linked with some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

The 56-year-old tactician, who won La Decima with Real Madrid in 2014, the club’s 10th Champions League title, before being sacked the following season, is being linked with a return to the English Premier League.

Four years after leaving London giants Chelsea, where he won the Premier League, FA Cup, and Community Shield in a two-year stint, Ancelotti could be destined for a second spell in England.

But which club is rumored to be after Carletto’s services? Surprise, surprise, it is no other than Liverpool, currently under the leadership of under-fire manager Brendan Rodgers.

After coming achingly close to their first English Premier League title in the club’s history back in the 2013-14 season, followed by the subsequent exits of Luis Suarez, Raheem Sterling, and Steven Gerrard, the Reds are struggling to keep up with their league rivals in the title race.

The Anfield side endured a disappointing start to the season, with only 8 points from their first six games, as the currently reside in 13th spot.

Fans have called for the sacking of the Northern Irish manager, and previous rumors have linked Liverpool with Jurgen Klopp, however, Ancelotti’s English Premier League experience may prove golden.

In addition, despite Rodgers still commanding some backing from the club, the Daily Mail claim that his career with the Merseyside club is “hanging by the thread”, with owners FSG making contact with Ancelotti.
