The Welsh wingman came down with an injury during the first half of Real Madrid's Champions League opener against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday.

Real Madrid's first victory in the UEFA Champions League left a not so desirable aftermath, since Welsh wingman Gareth Bale came out of the game due to a calf injury. Today, the team revealed that Los Blancos' No. 11 will be out for at least two weeks, which could be extended to five considering the player's reaction to treatment.

Bale left the pitch during the first half of Tuesday's game against Shakhtar Donetsk, raising concerns about his physical state.

"Following the tests carried out on Gareth Bale today in the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, the player has been diagnosed with a soleus muscle injury in his left leg. His condition will be evaluated," the team revealed via their website.

Bale has scored two goals for Real Madrid in three La Liga matches.

Bale's injury was not the only one Los Blancos had to endure while playing against the Ukrainian side. Center backs Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane left the pitch with different problems, although the French defender returned today to the team's training sessions. On the other hand, Ramos' injury will keep him away from the pitch for this weekend's match against Granada, with his recovery time still to be determined.
