Turkey and Latvia are currently fourth and fifth in Group A and need a miracle for having any chance of making it to the illustrious tournament. Turkey would be hoping to benefit at the expense of Netherlands who have been on a poor run and have a new manager at the helm in the form of Danny Blind. A Turkey victory accompanied with a defeat for the Dutch will allow Fatih Terim's men to leapfrog Netherlands to third place.
They have been on decent form as of late, currently unbeaten in their last five matches in all competitions. They recorded a 1-0 win over Kazakhstan in their last encounter courtesy of a goal from Arda Turan who Fatih Terim has described as being the Turkish Messi. The Turkish head coach hailed his versatility and claimed that he will prove to be a big asset for his new club as well as for his country.
"Arda is nothing short of our Messi," Terim said.
"The most important thing is that Arda is extremely happy to have signed for Barca. They've signed a legend, a great player and a winner.

The former Galatasaray manager expressed his frustration over the lack of playing time Arda Turan will get at Barcelona due to the transfer ban the club is under, which could have serious implications for the Turkish side who have important qualifying matches ahead.
"It's a serious problem that Arda can't play for Barcelona - not even in friendlies - thanks to the Fifa ban," he said. "We, Turkey, are in a very tough qualification group for France 2016. We have opponents like Netherlands, Czech Republic, even Iceland, who have improved hugely.
"We'll have very important games in the period when Arda Turan can't play for Barca. It's a shame.
Latvia on the other hand have not managed a victory in any of their last five matches and will be hoping to change that when they face Turkey on Thursday.
