The Gunners showed a lot of promise last time around, but it remains to be seen whether the time has finally come when Arsene Wenger's men can return to the Zenith of English football.

It has been a so close yet so far situation for Arsenal for quite some time now and despite of boasting a squad full of talented players, the Gunners have failed to make a solid claim for the league title. Things are however rapidly getting better at the red side of North London and the Gunners have made massive strides in the last few years. Arsene Wenger has a world class squad to his expense and this time he must ensure that him and his team go the extra mile to win the coveted crown.

Here are five changes Arsenal must make to challenge for the Premier League title:

Start the season well

The achilles heel to Arsenal's last campaign was their poor start which ruled them out of the title race very early in the season. This has been one of the problems the Arsenal sides of yesteryears have faced as well and it is something which Arsene Wenger needs to address if his team are to have any chance of winning the Premier League.

What bodes well for the Gunners is a strong pre-season which has seen them go undefeated and win three trophies. Even though pre-season silverware is hardly something to boast about, it will definitely give the players a boost in confidence ahead of the season.

Address the injury issue

Arsene Wenger rarely has had an injury free squad at his expense and to challenge for the title it is imperative that he has a host of talented players to choose from. The new season is yet to kick off and the Arsenal side has already been subjected to a few injury concerns.

Danny Welbeck has failed to recover from the injury he suffered towards the end of last season whereas Jack Wilshere's niggling ankle concerns have continued this season as well and the Englishman is poised to spend a few weeks on the sidelines.

Much is expected from Shad Forsythe who was recruited as a physio last season and has had a notable impact ever since. But him and his team need to ensure that they do a better job this time around and make sure that Arsene Wenger can call upon the services of his key players week in week out.

Buy a world class striker

Whereas Olivier Giroud performed commendably last season and Theo Walcott pitched in with some important goals towards the end, Arsenal are definitely in need of a World Class addition upfront .

Karim Benzema has been hotly linked with a move to the Emirates and should the move materialize, Arsenal will have one of the world's top strikers among their ranks who is capable of producing goals out of nowhere.

Back up to Coquelin

Francis Coquelin's performances last season have provided him with enough security and it is unlikely that anyone will be able to displace him from the starting line-up.

However it is important that there is a capable replacement should the Frenchman suffer injuries or a dip in form. As of now Arsenal have the likes of Arteta and Flamini as backups who regardless of their experience are perhaps not good enough.

Abandon the philosophy

Jose Mourinho accused Arsenal of abandoning their philosophy after the Blues were at the receiving end of a 1-0 defeat in the community shield and this is exactly what Wenger's men must do in the coming season.

Whereas Arsenal do play one touch eye to pleasing football, it is not worth it if it does not win them titles. Arsene Wenger has manipulated his tactics in recent times in order to add more resilience and steel which is something he must continue doing this season.
