The Argentinian wingman has been one of the Premier League flops this year, after joining Manchester United for a record fee of £60 million.

After a record-setting transfer last summer, Angel Di Maria has failed to make an impression with Manchester United for a number of reasons. Following an early-season injury back in September, the Argentinian has failed to adapt to life in the UK, and with his mind set on making his family more comfortable after an attempted burglary to their home, the former Real Madrid player has not been showing his skills regularly with the team.

With that in mind, some of Europe's top teams have made it a priority to sign the player born in Rosario, Argentina, and Paris Saint Germain would be preparing a £45 million bid to sign the player, according to sources.

Paris Saint Germain is looking to add some talent to their formation, with the possible departure of Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani. Di Maria would fit the role completely, since he is used to play in the wings, a position Cavani does not like very much. Furthermore, Di Maria has always shown his disposition to join PSG, even after his failed transfer last summer.

Di Maria started his stint with United in great form, scoring goals and handing assists to his team-mates, but his role with the Red Devils has changed since then, even sitting out for entire games lately. His place on the team's lineup was taken by Juan Mata, and the player hasn't been able to bounce back. Even with Van Gaal still expecting Di Maria's contribution, a bid like this one could change his mind about the wingman's future with the club.

Furthermore, the Financial Fair Play rules could make United sell the player, so they can have more chances to negotiate with players such as Mats Hummels and Ilkay Gundogan, who have been linked to the club lately.
