The Gunners will host Jose Mourinho’s crew on Sunday with the hopes of winning, but the numbers do not paint a pretty picture of their chances.

Sunday will see an exciting clash between London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea, second and first in the standings, as both sides look to get the better of their neighbors and clinch three vital points.

Chelsea currently sit at the top of the table with a 10-point lead, and appear well on their way to claiming the English Premier League title, but a loss to Arsene Wenger’s in-form team could complicate the issue.

The Gunners are on a role, having picked up 33 points since the beginning of 2015. On top of that, Arsenal, undoubtedly one of Europe's most formidable home side, will have the crowd in their corner for the Emirates encounter.

But a victory over Chelsea will not come that easy. Le Prof does not boast the best of track records against the team from west London, having lost to them five times in their last six meeting in all competitions.

The last time these two sides faced at the Emirates Stadium, they played out a goalless draw. This just proves that Arsenal does not have a good home record against Chelsea. In their last six home games, the Gunners have won only once, back in 2010.

Mesut Ozil, Branislav Ivanovic, Arsenal, Chelsea, English Premier League

The weekend fixture will see the French tactician go head-to-head with arch nemesis Jose Mourinho. The clashes between these two managers has been epic and will forever go down in the history books as one of hte best.

Having exchanged heated words, with a “specialist in failure” name tag being tossed around, the two were involved in an actual physical showdown on the pitch in their last run off.

One could easily say Wenger’s fight with the Special One was born from frustration in his inability to beat the Portuguese boss. Since arriving in England back in 2004, the two managers have met 12 times, and Arsene is yet to win a single game.

Seven defeats and five draws is Wenger’s record versus Mourinho. The Frenchman’s team have conceded a whopping 21 goals at the hands of the former Real Madrid boss, whilst only scoring six.

Arsene Wenger, Jose Mourinho, Arsenal, Chelsea, Capital One Cup

Furthermore, Jose has his deadliest weapon vs. Arsenal back at his disposal: Didier Drogba. Way past his prime, his 8 goals in 11 English Premier League clashes with the north London side must still ring fear in the Arsenal supporters’ hearts.

All these point to one thing: Wenger has a horrible track record vs. Chelsea, and this may all but end their title hopes, on Sunday.
