Simeone claims other coaches are jelous of his players. Oblak feels the best team won made it to the semi-finals.

The seven-game undefeated streak against Real Madrid ended in the worst moment for Atletico Madrid who wanted to make a statement and knock out the team who prevented them from winning La Orejona last year. Now Diego Simeone and his players are hurting, but walking away with their heads held high.

"I'm proud of my team for competing as we did. I have a team of men," Atletico's boss claimed.

The Argentinian manager has made out of Atletico a force to be feared around the world. Obtaining La Liga title last year and making it to the UEFA Champions League final were more than good enough arguments to help him reach an agreement for a contract extension until 2020.

"I have no negative feelings. There are coaches who are envious of me for having these players."

Someone that was praised for his efforts to keep a clean sheet and Atletico alive was Jan Oblak. The goalkeeper felt short of his goal just two minutes before the game ended when Chicharito was able to send a shot past him and into the back of the net.

"Real Madrid have a great team, great players…They deserved to win and we wish them the best," Oblak said. "Of course we’re sad, but this is football and you can’t always win."

The Slovenian goalkeeper just appeared in UEFA.com's ideal XI after the second leg of the quarter-finals for his performance in the game against Real. He now is switching his focus to La Liga, where they need a strong finish in order to get back to the European competition next year.
