With the Argentinian struggling to live up to his hefty price tag, reports in England claim the Red Devils could be preparing to cut their ties

Since arriving at Old Trafford in a record-breaking £59.9 million transfer, Angel Di Maria has experienced mixed fortunes with Manchester United.

The Argentinian star, who was instrumental in Real Madrid winning their 10th Champions League title this past May started off brightly in his opening few months, but since the start of this year, has found his form suffering quite a bit.

In fact, he has failed to complete a full 90 minutes in his last few games as Louis Van Gaal has not been impressed with his big money signing's performances. Some personal troubles - namely a break-in attempt at his home  whilst with his wife and child - have certainly not helped, but reports in England indicate that the Red Devils have already earmarked a replacement as they seek to cut their losses.

Di Maria was a huge target for PSG prior to making the move to England and could again throw their hat in the ring for him this summer. Meanwhile, Van Gaal has apparently cast his eye on young PSV star Memphis Depay, who is valued at £20 million by his club. The Dutch international's rapport with Van Gaal is also a factor that could put Manchester United ahead of fellow Premier League side Tottenham, who are also credited with an interest in the 21-year-old as he has just one year remaining on his contract.
