Argentine duo Sergio Aguero and Lionel Messi, two of the world's hottest strikers, will go head-to-head on Tuesday when Manchester City welcome Barcelona to the Etihad in the Champions League last-16.
The two share a great relationship, but according to the Citizens forward, Tuesday night's highly-anticipated tie is no place for friendships.
"It’s clear that friendship has no place in the field. We are both focused in giving our team the best until the whistle blows and that's the way it should be,” Kun stated.
Speaking to Manchester City's official website, the 26-year-old former Atletico Madrid man admitted to being confident over his side's chances, having qualified from the group stage after coming achingly close to elimination.
"We're confident we'll do well."
"When many thought we were down and out in this competition, we defeated Bayern and then Roma in Italy. That shows we are growing as a European force and we can do it again", added the Argentine.”
Aguero also revealed his thoughts on last season's encounter between Barcelona and Manchester City in the Champions League, opening up about why his side were dumped out of the competition at the hands of the Blaugrana.
"Barça made it difficult for us last time because they kept the ball so well and that's one of their main strengths and that made it difficult for us to dominate the game," Aguero added.
"We wanted to attack them more but we weren't able to reach the final third of the pitch as often as we wanted to."
