In Italy on Saturday, August 21 all eyes will be at the San Siro Stadium. Seria A runners-up AS Roma will challenge treble champions Inter Milan in the Italian Super Cup.

Inter Milan's Dejan Stankovic celebrates. As former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez will have the chance to win silverware for the first time since leading the Merseyside Reds to FA Cup glory in 2005, Serbian international Dejan Stankovic underlined his commitment to the Milanese outfit.

The defensive midfielder proudly declared to Sky Sport 24:

“I’m an Inter Milan soldier. In that way, I don’t mind whether I start a match or I don’t. I’m always ready and available for the coach, whether I’m on the field from the beginning or on the bench.”

Inter Milan are poised to defeat their rivals from the capital on Saturday and doing so will let them be inches away from emulating Barcelona’s clean sweep of titles. Earlier on, AS Roma’s Francesco Totti had criticized the Nerazzurri for being favored by referee and talked about this fact using the word ‘protection’.

Giving his thoughts over Francesco Totti’s possible attempt to play mind games, Inter Milan’s Dejan Stankovic stated:

“I did not take Totti’s words as negative provocation. It’s positive. Matches between Inter and Roma will continue on Saturday night. It will be beautiful.

“I don’t think Inter Milan have been protected. Inter won [the treble] because they deserved to, and Totti knows this.”
