The former Chelsea and Liverpool player reflected on Suarez's situation with Los Blaugranas, predicting the Uruguayan will only 'get better'.

Fernando Torres trusts Luis Suarez will end up being important to Barcelona despite only being able to score twice in La Liga for Los Blaugranas. The former Liverpool and Chelsea striker asked fans to go in a little deeper on why Suarez hasn't performed for Barcelona as he did for the Reds.

"He is fundamental. He does the dirty work and the work that isn’t dirty. He is a very good player. You have to realise that Luis comes from making 50 goals in a team in which he was the one who made the goals. At Barça you have to start to substract that amount because Messi makes 50 a year," Torres stated.

But even if Barca's fans are still waiting for the Uruguayan's best version, "El Niño" understands the pressure Suarez is going through, since his signing was one of the most expensive ever in La Liga's history.

"That is normal. There is a need to make more goals, he will do it. Not going any further, against us in the match in the Calderón, the damage that was done to us was done by him," Torres remembered.

Finally, discussing Saturday's game against Real Madrid, the former Milan striker wants his team to keep improving, and not to pay attention to what other sides like Valencia or Sevilla can do to catch up with them.

"What the others do, it’s the same if you win. We have to look up, if you aim for the top you can always stay a little bit back. If you look back you’ll be closer to those behind you than those above you," El Niño ended.
