The Spanish goalkeeper's agent opened the door for a Real Madrid switch in a recent interview.

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea's reported Real Madrid move has been dominating the transfer headlines as of late. According to the rumors, despite enjoying one of the best spells of his professional career under Louis van Gaal's tutelage, the 24-year-old has grown keen on making a return to La Liga.

The Bernabeu is tipped as his next destination, with suggestions that the Red Devils will use De Gea in a sensational player-plus-cash move for world-record signing Gareth Bale.

Arriving at Old Trafford back in 2011, the Red Devils appear unable to resist interest in the former Atletico Madrid custodian and keep a hold of La Furia Roja ace. With his contract expiring in July 2016, the club will either have to cash in on him next summer, or risk losing him for nothing.

Furthermore, in a recent interview with Marca, the Spaniard's agent, Jorge Mendes, did little to extinguish rumors of a Manchester United exit. The “Super Agent” in fact hinted that the 24-year-old may quit Van Gaal's side in favor for Los Blancos.

When asked whether De Gea could make a switch to the Spanish capital, Mendes revealed:

“David is amazing, he’s brilliant. He’s a Man United player and has a contract there. You have to respect that but things change every five minutes.”
