Since making his mega-money move to Spanish giants Barcelona over the summer, Luis Suarez hasn't exactly set La Liga alight, despite recording nine assists thus far for his new side.
To be fair, he did have to miss quite a few games due to a four month ban after biting Giorgio Chiellini at last summer's World Cup. However, since returning to the fold, the goals have not come as easily for the Uruguayan as it was during his final season at Liverpool, with five so far in all competitions.
Earlier today, Barcelona took on Atletico Madrid in a much-anticipated Copa del Rey clash between the two top ranked sides in Spain last season. And the former Reds ace had a chance to put his team up late in the first half only to blast his attempt well over the bar.
That, coupled with two incidents that the referee deemed him guilty of diving, pretty much summed up his less than impressive evening.
And observers did not hold back in their criticism of the €81 million man.
The shocking miss that he certainly would have converted last season (VINE):
And here's how those who viewed the match expressed their thoughts on the controversial player:
Well I guess #Suarez really proved today that he is lacking bite and hunger; someone give him some Pasta ala Chiellini.

Suarez should start performing rather than diving. #FCB #Suarez

Suarez is clearly missing all these chances on purpose to force a move back to Liverpool.

And, this one is wondering if another big money disappointment is in the making. After all, both Suarez and Fernando Torres enjoyed great runs of form at Liverpool and earned a big money move elsewhere...only, at least, in Torres' case to fail to live up to expectations:
Is #Suarez rapidly becoming #Barca's equivalent of #Torres at #Chelsea? #couldnthitavarndoorwirhabanjo #fcb #barcelona #feensndotorres
