Maybe fans are a little bit carried away, but it seems like Liverpool are recovering last year's form if you consider their last games. Brendan Rodgers' side managed to defeat Aston Villa in their quest to fight for European tournaments next year, having great performances by Fabio Borini and sub Rickie Lambert.
Having Raheem Sterling back, Liverpool's game changed for good, giving them depth in the creativity department. The Jamaican-born player created gaps inside Aston Villa's defence to make way for Fabio Borini to score the first goal of the day after 25 minutes. The Reds tried hard to extend their lead, and their efforts were rewarded with a quality strike by Rickie Lambert, who was assisted by Sterling to put the ball past Brad Guzan.
With this result, Liverpool extend their undefeated streak to six games, winning four out of those. Brendan Rodgers' side has kept a clean sheet for two games in a row, and has allowed only four goals in their last six matches. To make things look even better, Liverpool have won their five most recent away games, making their European football hopes for next year bigger than ever.

He's been at Liverpool a while now and maybe we take him for granted but Martin Skrtel was brilliant today. pic.twitter.com/LyH650SSu0

Fabio Borini's goal was the first he's scored in the Premier League for Liverpool since 27th April 2013 vs. Newcastle (631 days). #LFC
