Football's governing body stated earlier today there were no irregularities in both elections, but the Executive Committee may still investigate suspicious officers.

Despite all the rumors, it seems  FIFA's decision about the next World Cup hosts was clean. FIFA's Ethics Committee stated today no irregularities were discovered during the investigation led by former U.S. Attorney Michael Garcia regarding possible bribes to make Russia and Qatar World Cup hosts.

The Ethics Committee president, Hans-Joachim Eckert, explained via a press release both countries complied with every aspect required to host football's main event, and that it would be up to Garcia to decide if specific officers could be pursued for any wrongdoing before or after the countries were elected as hosts.

Football's governing body also revealed they will take under consideration any recommendation made by Garcia regarding the host country's election process for the next World Cups. This process, Eckert said, was "clean, solid and professional".

Eckert also stated the entirety of the report could not be published, because it would violate FIFA's confidenciality clauses, but the judge promised to cooperate with any further investigation regarding any other issue concerning the organization of any of their tournaments.
