Liverpool will face league leaders Chelsea on Saturday and they will be confident of getting all three points as they welcome the Blues to Anfield.

The Reds have been on a poor run so far and have lost thrice in their last five matches in all competitions. Unfortunately for Liverpool their counterparts have been on a fine run and will be hoping to continue their unbeaten streak in the league.

To their advantage Rodger's men play the match at home and they will be hoping that the kop faithful can drive them to a victory on Saturday. Liverpool fans are some of the loudest supporters in the country and they will do their best to get the maximum out of their team while ensuring that they make life difficult for their counterparts.

Liverpool performed admirably at home last season dropping just eight points at their home turf, something which proved to be vital in their impressive run last campaign which earned them a place in the Champions League.

This time the Reds have failed to show the same consistency having already lost to Aston Villa at home and have been held by rivals Everton as well as Hull City. Luis Suarez's departure coupled with an injury to Daniel Sturridge has seen the Reds struggling to score many goals but Brendan Rodgers has insisted that Anfield is still a difficult place to play at.

“I still believe Anfield is a difficult place to come but we want to improve our home form,” Rodgers said.

“Once we get our rhythm back and we get a run of wins then it will make it hopefully similar to last year."

“It’s been a mixture of things really. Teams now are fully aware of our qualities. They come to Anfield not to lose so that makes it more difficult for us at home.

“But we’ve shown signs of what we can do. We have had good results at Anfield against Southampton and West Brom.

“If you look at the Southampton game, it was deemed not a great performance at the time but they have only conceded five league goals so far and we scored two of them."

The former Swansea boss also had words of praise for the fans who he believes have been brilliant despite the fact that the club has not been doing very well.

“I’ve got to say the fans have been brilliant and against big opponents they really give us a massive lift."

“We will require that again against Chelsea. Hopefully between the players, the staff and the fans we can all combine to get a big three points.”

Liverpool have managed a win in just one of the six matches they have played against Chelsea, the victory coming back in May 2012 when the Reds thrashed Chelsea 4-1 at Anfield after going 3-0 up at half time.

However Liverpool were unable to match the Blues last season as Chelsea did a double over Brendan Rodger's men. A 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge was followed by an unlikely victory in the return leg, something which will be very fresh in every Liverpool fan's mind.

A victory could have given the Reds a huge boost in their title hopes but Steven Gerrard's slip gave away possession to Demba Ba who had acres of space to run at and the Senegal international ran unopposed until he calmly slotted the ball at the back of the net.

Liverpool will be eager to put an end to their disappointing run and a win against Chelsea is exactly what they might need to reignite their season. Whereas playing at home might prove to be an advantage, Liverpool must ensure they are disciplined on the pitch if they are to get anything out of the match.
