Sunday's big match might feature three of the most feared strikers in the continent. The likes of Aguero, Rooney and Falcao will all be keen to create an impression during the Manchester Derby.

Man City star Sergio Aguero has been in blistering form in recent games and currently heads the scorers chart having registered nine goals in the Premier League. He got himself on the scoresheet four times as the Citizens dismantled Tottenham 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium and was arguably his side's best player when they faced CSKA Moskva in the Champions League.

However the match on Sunday will be a completely different ball game and the Argentine will need to step up for his team to produce the goods. Should the United defence fail in their attempts to restrain the mercurial forward, the Red Devils might be in for a long night.

United on the other hand after spending a record sum on transfers in the summer transfer window are yet to hit top form. The Red Devils are currently eighth in the league table after nine games and need to produce better performances if they are to avoid a repeat of last season.

Much was expected of Colombian international Radamel Falcao as he made a switch to Old Trafford on deadline day. The former Porto man was signed for his predatory instincts having enjoyed fruitful spells at former clubs Monaco and Atletico Madrid but is yet to hit the ground running in the Premier League.

The 28 year old has managed just five appearances in the Premier League so far including three starts which have yielded just a single goal. A striker of his caliber is expected to produce much better performances however the Colombian is evidently yet to recover from the cruciate knee ligament injury he suffered which prevented his participation in the World Cup.

Falcao has had his moments in a United shirt and impressed in the match against Everton, following it with an impressive cameo against West Brom. That said, the Colombian is still only a shadow of his former self and is capable of performing much better. Sunday's game is his chance to show his true colours. Falcao boasts an impressive resume having scored 155 goals in 200 games for Porto, Atletico Madrid and Monaco. He has a talented bunch of attacking players operating behind him and it won't be a surprise if he soon finds his feet. Man City fans will be hoping that doesn't happen so on Sunday, because when on song Falcao is quite literally unstoppable.

Apart from Falcao who is uncertain to make a start during Sunday's thriller, Man United captain Wayne Rooney will also be looking to make an impression. The talismanic striker was sent off after receiving his marching orders in the match against West Ham and he will be raring to make his comeback on Sunday. However Louis van Gaal has issued a stern warning to his captain after claiming that nobody could walk back into his team.

Regardless of what the Dutchman had to say it is an odd occurrence for a full fit Wayne Rooney to be benched whether it's for club or country and thus it is almost certain that the Englishman will start alongside Robin Van Persie in the Manchester Derby.

Wayne Rooney has been United's savior time and time again, it will be only common sense for Van Gaal to throw him straight into the starting line-up provided that he is fully fit. He is his team's top scorer in derby matches and was the only player who could walk out of the pitch with his head held up high after United got thrashed 4-1 at the Etihad last September.

In the six games he has played so far, Rooney has scored thrice and has provided two assists for his teammates. Apart from his undeniable talents in the attacking third, Rooney has proven himself to be quite an asset when his team is in need of defensive reinforcements. The 29 year old is seen running up and down the pitch tirelessly contributing to his team in whatever way he can. The Englishman possesses the kind of spirit which is imperative for a game as big as this and United will desperately need their top man to produce the goods.

Luckily for Rooney United are currently blessed with some of the most talented attacking players, on Sunday United's skipper must do his level best to do something he is very capable of; outshine every other player on the pitch and in particular the mercurial Sergio Aguero.
