The current CONCACAF Champions League holders, who will participate in this year's Club World Cup, ended their run in this tournament losing their temper.

Mexican side Cruz Azul showed how frustrated they were after being eliminated in the first round of the CONCACAF Champions League. In a shameful show, the current tournament champions ended their reign with a fight against Costa Rican side Alajuelense.

During the match played in the Central American country, Alajuelense took the lead just two minutes after the match started. Six minutes later, Gerardo Torrado found a way to equalize the game with a long distance strike. Alajuelense dominated the rest of the match, even hitting the bar during the final 20 minutes. For Cruz Azul, things seemed to get better with the entrance of Christian Gimenez, who had a chance to put Los Celestes in the lead, but wasn't able to clear the post with a free kick.

Things turned to the ugly side minutes before the game ended, when goalkeeper Jesus Corona hit one of the Costa Rican players. When the referee blew the final whistle, Cruz Azul's players lost it, and started hitting anyone they could get their fists on. The Mexican team will surely have some players banned for their Club World Cup participation, and their future in that tournament seems quite dark at the moment.
