South Korea vs Paraguay will be played on Friday, the 10th of October at the Cheonan Baekseok Stadium.

German tactician Uli Stielike will take charge of the Reds for the first time as they host South American side Paraguay on Friday. South Korea will be hoping for a much better performance during the friendly match after a disappointing World Cup campaign which ended with them failing to record a single victory.
But Stielike who has managed Switzerland and Ivory Coast in the past is confident that he can help the Asian side achieve bigger heights in the coming year.

"Today, the South Korean national team embarks on a new journey," Stielike said.

"I hope the coaches and players will bring new attitudes to the table.

"They will have to work hard at every practice and try to win every match to reach the hearts of our fans."

The 59 year old also insisted that he would be willing to experiment a bit with his squad in the upcoming friendlies which might see him tweaking his tactics a bit.

"In modern football, it's important to have flexibility with tactics," he said.

"The key is for our players to make adjustments. They're all smart players and I have confidence they'll be able to follow."

However Stielike will need to get his team in shape rather quickly with the Asian Cup set to kick off in Australia in January.

Paraguay on the other hand will be in a buoyant mood ahead of this fixture having not lost a match in their last three games. They pulled off impressive performances against the likes of Cameroon and France picking up a victory against the former and a 1-1 draw against the latter. However Los Guaraníes were largely  innocuous when they met United Arab Emirates in their last outing and will need to improve on that performance.

Victor Genes will be without striker Jorge Benitez (thigh) as well as defender Marcos Caceres (arm) who have been forced out of the side for Friday's game due to injuries.

The two sides have met one another on two previous occasions with South Korea scoring a win over their counterparts when the two sides met back in 2009, whereas the match ended in a 1-1 draw during a match between the two sides back in 2005.
