After a hiatus for international fixtures, Juventus resumes league action as they welcome Udinese to Turin.

Reigning Scudetto champions Juventus will welcome Udinese in their first home match of the 2014-2015 Serie A season. However, despite defeating the Zebrette both at home and away last season, new Bianconeri coach Massimiliano Allegri will be without a whole crop of first-team regulars due to injury, something that will be of great concern with their Champions League campaign just around the corner.

Midfield maestro Andrea Pirlo is still out with a hip problem. Arturo Vidal, a mainstay due to his combative displays in the middle of the pitch is also on the treatment table with a thigh strain. As for Azzurri defensive duo Andrea Barzagli and Giorgio Chiellini, the former will make the bench whilst the latter, who suffered a calf injury during international duty has been reportedly training with the squad.

Meanwhile, while attempting to downplay rumors of a Carlos Tevez injury, the former Milan coach was cautious regarding whether the Argentinian will take to the field.

"I'll have to talk to him...he says he's fine and wants to play but I'll have to decide whether to have him play or not. I [also] have to think about the Champions League," he stated in a pre-match press conference.

However, new signing Alvaro Morata may feature, with the Spaniard apparently having recovered to finally make his Serie A debut--but isn't yet ready to play the full 90, according to his new coach.

Opponents Udinese, who finished last season in 13th place have started off well with a win in their opening fixture. The scorer? None other than the evergreen Antonio Di Natale, whose brace was enough to see off Empoli in their opening fixture, a week after netting a quintet of goals in the Zebrette's 5-1 thrashing of Serie B outfit Ternana in the Coppa Italia.

Hence, given their disappointing performance last term they will hope that their captain--who will turn 37 later this fall--will be able to continue this rich vein of form in today's fixture.
