The ‘Revs’ win their second match in five days and stay in third place in the East.

Sunday’s match against Chicago Fire wasn’t an easy one for the ‘Revs’, as they had to come from behind to get a 2-1 victory at the Gillette stadium. This result was special for New England as they reached a fourth straight victory and remained in third place of the Eastern Conference table.

New England manager Jay Heaps praised his team after the victory.

“You have to react after giving up a goal. I think the game was all us at that point. In terms of the reaction and the positive nature, we sense that we have some real leaders out there, like Jose [Goncalves], like Jermaine, like A.J. [Soares].

“I think their reactions have been really good and the players around them are feeding off of that.”

Last Wednesday, the ‘Revs’ also managed to defeat Sporting Kansas City 3-1, with a great performance from recently signed USMNT player Jermaine Jones. These results have led to positive reactions from the fans and the media, with the ‘Revs’ now being considered as serious title contenders for the MLS Cup.

Jermaine Jones also expressed his opinion after Sunday’s win.

"Maybe we need a wakeup call. When you watch the two last games, we controlled the 90 minutes and they scored from nothing, both teams. The important stuff is that we keep going. We tried to push and push."

The ‘Revs’ are just three points away from second place Sporting Kansas City, with one game in hand on their Eastern Conference rivals.
