Early on Friday, the English press reported a story about Arsenal's Polish goalkeeper making harsh comments about his Colombian counterpart, something Szczesny has refuted

Young Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has hit back at the English press over a story written about the 24-year-old and newly-signed Gunners custodian David Ospina.

Early on Friday, reports in the media quoted Wojciech Szczesny as saying Ospina is "not his friend" and that he "does not feel sorry for him" whilst speaking to Polish newspaper Przeglad Sportowy.

The Colombian moved from Ligue 1 side Nice for a reported fee of £3m after his impressive performance with his national team in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The north London side were in need of goalkeeping cover after fellow Polish shot-stopper Lukasz Fabianski ran out his contract and walked out of the Emirates after their FA Cup triumph, moving to the Liberty Stadium to join Swansea City.

Wenger though was keen to underline the 26-year-old Los Cafeteros goalkeeper could oust Sczcesny as Arsenal's number one choice, sparking competition for the spot between the sticks.

However, the Polish ace refuted this story, taking to Facebook to blast the English media for writing "a story when there isn't one", calling the reports "bull".
