The Mexican international took part in the charity campaign to raise funds for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) research.

Javier Hernández was left cold last Saturday after Manchester United’s loss at Old Trafford against Swansea for the first time in the club’s history. Moreover, the Mexican striker was taken off after 45 minutes, as his performance apparently wasn’t what manager Louis Van Gaal was expecting.

On Wednesday ‘Chicharito’ was left cold again, but this time after taking part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. The 26-year-old did the challenge after being nominated by Mexican national team’s players Miguel Layun and Alan Pulido, ESPN host Adriana Monsalves, and Mexican actress Dulce María.

‘Chicharito’ then nominated Manchester United teammate Juan Mata, Mexican defender Hector Moreno and actors Demian Bichir and Diego Luna.

Hernández future in Manchester is yet to be decided as there have been many rumors and speculations regarding his potential exit. The player wants to have more playing minutes with the ‘Red Devils’ but it seems unlikely as manager Louis Van Gaal doesn’t seem convinced by his performances, especially after what happened on Saturday.
