New Liverpool signing Adam Lallana took a full page advert to wave goodbye to his former club, Southampton.

The England ace signed for the Merseyside club on a £23m, passing a medical, and will now wear the number 20 jersey for Liverpool when the 2014-2015 English Premier League and Champions League season kicks off.

The 26-year-old Three Lions midfielder parts way wth his club of 14 years, but in a touching gesture, thanked all the fans for their support he received and the time that he spent at the club by renting an ad in the Southern Daily Echo.

Lallana, though, could not hold back his joy over his Anfield move, saying: “I'm so excited for the next chapter of my career, coming to a special club like Liverpool.”

“I'm quite humbled and I just can't wait to get started.”

“Hopefully I can settle in quickly, and I will give it my best throughout the whole time I'm here. I hope I can add something to the team and hopefully we can win trophies while I'm here, because that's why I'm here - for success.”

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers also expressed his delight over their new signing, stating: “We are delighted to have secured the services of one of the Premier League's top talents in signing Adam Lallana."
