Following Spain's elimination from the World Cup after losing to Chile, social media exploded with reactions to the shocking result.

In their first match, Spain faced off against the Netherlands in a replay of the 2010 World Cup final, and it was a game that many expected to be a closely contested one.

La Furia Roja had taken the lead, only to have Robin Van Persie equalize shortly before halftime with a amazing flying header, but no one was expecting the outcome of the second half.

The Oranje slaughtered the reigning World Cup champions with four goals within the span of the remaining 45 and the game ended as a 5-1 shocker. Still, they were expected to bounce back against Chile and again were subjected to another surprising defeat--and this time, were not even able to find the back of the net.

The Iberian nation now becomes the first ever title holders to lose their first two group stage games, and of course, social media exploded with reactions from around the world.
