Wenger is on a hunt for a world class forward to add to the squad and recent reports have linked the Gunners with a move for Italian international Mario Balotelli with Puma reportedly interested in brokering the deal.

The North London side signed a staggering 150 million pound five year deal with Puma after ending a two decade long association with Nike. Whereas the deal has provided Arsenal with obvious financial benefits the Gunners might be at the receiving end of further incentives.

According to reports in Italy, Balotelli who is also sponsored by Puma might make his move to the Emirates and the transfer will be highly influenced by the sportswear company. The Ghana born striker’s return to his homeland was not like he had imagined and even though the 23 year old boasts a decent scoring record at the club, he has been subject to constant racial abuse which has prompted rumors that the former Man City striker might be heading back to England.

But the Citizens who are well equipped at the front might not be willing to buy back a striker who during his time in England made headlines for all the wrong reasons. Wenger meanwhile will be hoping to use this opportunity to add Balotelli to the Arsenal roster. The current Arsenal squad boasts a strong defence and a very talented midfield but lacks firepower upfront.

Arsenal heavily relied on Olivier Giroud last season with the Frenchman the only recognized striker in the squad, but things are expected to change from next season and Wenger is determined to add a world class striker to his ranks.

Balotelli is the kind of player who can definitely inspire the Gunners into achieving bigger things next season. The Italian international has a perfect blend of pace, strength, agility and composure which will really help Arsenal in their quest for titles.

However regardless of his quality, Balotelli has a penchant for comical antics which makes him more of a liability and it remains to be seen whether Wenger will be willing to tolerate that kind of attitude at the club.

If Arsenal choose not to sign Balotelli there are a host of other options available. According to reports the Gunners are also keeping tabs on Bayern Munich front man Mario Mandzukic who has declared his desire to leave the club following the arrival of Robert Lewandowski from Borussia Dortmund.

Former Arsenal forward Carlos Vela is also on Arsenal’s radar and should the Gunners decide to make a move for the Mexican, it will only cost them 3.5 million pounds due to a clause inserted in the player’s contract.

Real Madrid youngster Alvaro Morata is another player linked with a move to Arsenal but Los Blancos would be unwilling to let him go cheap.
