Universidad De Chile vs LDU Quito Match Preview
Universidad de Chile will be desperate to win the first international title in their entire history when they clash with Liga de Quito in the Copa Sudamericana title decider on Wednesday.

Liga will rely on the attacking prowess of Barcos
Universidad de Chile face Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito of Ecuador in the most important match of their entire history on Wednesday, in which they will go for their first ever international title: the Copa Sudamericana.
Rivals Liga de Quito, on the other hand, were not only crowned Copa Sudamericana champions in 2009, but they lifted the Copa Libertadores title, South America's biggest club competition, in 2008.
Last week Universidad de Chile took a massive step towards the title, with a 1-0 victory over Liga in the first leg of the final at the Casa Blanca stadium in Quito. The Chileans only need a draw in Santiago to win the title, which would be an incredible achievement for the club.
But despite their valuable advantage coming into the second leg, Universidad's Argentine coach, Jorge Sampaoli, believes the series is far from over, and for this reason his side have to be very cautious.
"Liga beat Velez in Liniers and it will be very tough for us. Hopefully we can have the possibility to play a match in which we can impose our attacking abilities, against players with lots of experience, which can harm us," Sampaoli declared to the press prior to the grand finale.
"We only picked up a slight advantage in a 180-minute match; it's not decisive when it's against a side that have won four finals. We will try to impose our style, knowing that the best possibility is to attack," added Sampaoli, who will once again count with a full-strength squad, which includes exceptional striker Eduardo Vargas, the tournament's leading scorer with nine goals.
Meanwhile, Liga arrived in Santiago on Monday afternoon, with the absences of Ulises de la Cruz, Patricio Urrutia and Neicer Reasco, who are all injured.
Despite the fact that Liga face a complicated task, coach Edgardo Bauza and his players believe they have the necessary tools to overturn the loss they suffered in Quito with a win, and essentially the title in the Chilean capital.
"It isn't easy, we aren't the favourites, but it won't be the first time that this group would demonstrate to me how to revert complicated situations," admitted Bauza.
"Ninety minutes remain, we are behind, but we feel capable," of returning home with the glory, concluded Hernan Barcos, Liga's scoring-machine.
The final will be staged at the Estadio Nacional de Chile in Santiago, which will be packed to its 50,000 capacity. Tight security measures were taken by the local authorities to prevent any disturbances in and outside of the stadium.

Striker Eduardo Vargas scored twice in the final
More than 50,000 fans witnessed Universidad de Chile thrash Liga de Quito of Ecuador 3-0 in Santiago on Wednesday to win the Copa Sudamericana, the first international title in the club's entire history.
The Chileans completely outplayed their opponents, winning the match with two goals from striker Eduardo Vargas, the highest goal-scorer of the competition, and another from Argentine midfielder Gustavo Lorenzetti at the Estadio Nacional of Santiago.
Having won 1-0 in the altitude of Quito last week, Universidad came into the title decider as the overwhelming favourites and they lived up to the expectation with an exceptional performance, which extended their unbeaten run to 35 matches.
Universidad de Chile pushed to the attack immediately from the kick-off, and they went ahead as early as in the 3rd minute. Matias Rodriguez sent a right-sided cross into the area, and Vargas met a rebound with a venomous left-footed drive.
Motivated by the goal, the Chilean giants kept at the attack and would have added their second goal in the 7th minute had Liga goalkeeper Alexander Dominguez not pulled off a brilliant save from a Francisco Castro effort.
Liga, winners of the Copa Sudamericana in 2009, struggled to get into the game leaving star striker Hernan Barcos isolated up front. The Ecuadorians could barely keep up with the momentum of the hosts, and at times resorted to physical play as a means to stop them.
In the second period Liga livened up a touch, but rarely threatened Universidad goalkeeper Johnny Herrera, who was a spectator up to this moment. La 'U', on the other hand, continued to mount dangerous attacks on Dominguez's goal, and came close to scoring with a shot from midfielder Gustavo Canales that flashed inches wide.
If Liga's task was difficult at present, it pretty much became mission impossible from the 67th minute when Jorge Guagua received his marching orders for striking Lorenzetti as both players disputed a ball.
From that instance it was all one-way traffic, as Universidad created numerous goal-scoring opportunities. After much pressure, substitute Lorenzetti doubled their lead in the 79th minute when he met a rebound with a clever finish after a Vargas shot was blocked by Dominguez.
Four minutes from full-time it was Vargas who completed the rout, when he outwitted three defenders before beating Dominguez with a classy finish. Not only did Vargas end the tournament on top of the scoring charts, with eleven goals, but he was also named tournament MVP.
Universidad de Chile celebrated winning the Copa Sudamericana in style, which was their first international title triumph in their entire 84-year history.
