Premier Sports was formed in 2010 to primarily facilitate the broadcasting of sporting events that have been ignored by other broadcasters but have a very strong core following. Currently the channel focuses on Gaelic Games, league of Ireland Football, Blue Square Conference Football, NRL (Australian Rugby League) and Copa libertadores from South America. The channel shows between 120 and 130 live NRL games every year, the Allianz National Football League and National Hurling League matches, the International Rules Series between Australia and Ireland and also holds the rights to show archived classic Gaelic football and Hurling matches in the UK.

Premier Sports TV operates on channel 433 on the Sky platform in the UK.
