AEK Athens vs Iraklis Saloniki Match Preview
A tumultuous Super League campaign reaches its end for AEK on Sunday against Iraklis. AEK are one of the biggest clubs in Greek football, however for long-suffering supporters this has been a difficult campaign. The bright spots include some memorable victories domestically and in Europe and of course a spot in the playoffs and the Greek Cup final, but on the other side there have been massive disappointments including heavy defeats in the Super League on a few occasions.
The season could still end on a high if the club manage to win the Greek Cup and achieve a Champions’ League spot through the playoffs. Iraklis meanwhile will be playing solely for league position on Sunday and depending on the result could finish anywhere from 8th to 13th.
