Salvadoran Primera Division

The El Salvadoran Primera Division is the first division and top league in El Salvador. There are 10 participating football clubs in the El Salvador Primera Division. This league is also known as La Primera or la Liga Mayor and has been running since 1969. The team follows the South American Football league system with the season broken into 2 parts. The Apertura and the Clausura. This essentially divides the season into 2 equal parts. The Apertura runs from August until December. The Apertura runs from February until July.
