The 65th edition of CONMEBOL's Copa Libertadores is about to start following the preliminary stage that had several surprises for fans across the world. Now, the best teams from South America will lock horns against eaach other, starting with the full lot of group stage matches taking place from this week until May 30.
Once again, Brazilian teams are expected to dominate the tournament. Seven clubs from that country will be playing in this competition, giving them an edge over the rest of the nations in terms of who has the biggest chance to take the coveted trophy home.
Argentine clubs will also represent the Primera División in good numbers, although fans from all over the globe will not be able to watch Boca Juniors in action. Los Xeneizes failed to qualify to this competition for the first time since 2017, leaving them with the consolation of playing the Copa Sudamericana. River Plate, San Lorenzo, Talleres, Estudiantes, and Rosario Central will be the Argentine teams playing in the group stage.
