Sporting director Luis Campos has used his relationship with the Portuguese coach to lure him to coach the Ligue 1 side.

Even if Roma still have Jose Mourinho under contract, the Portuguese boss could be heading to a new destination if things carry on with their current course.

According to a report by RMC Sport, the Special One could be close to joining PSG to replace Christoph Galtier, as sporting director Luis Campos is still pushing to hire the Portuguese tactician to lead the team's new project.

Mourinho signed a three-year deal with Roma last season, and while he seems to be quite happy at the Italian capital, his desire to coach a club with almost unlimited funds could be enough to see him leaving the UEFA Europa Conference League winners.

The report by the French media outlet states that Mourinho is not hiding his desire to join PSG mainly because Roma have not been able to give him a guarantee of new signings for next season. In fact, some of the team's most valuable assets could be sold this summer, and that would be a deal breaker for Mourinho despite his happiness with the giallorossi.

RMC Sport's article adds that Luis Campos and president Nasser Al-Khelaifi will wait until the end of the Ligue 1 season to intensify negotiations with Mourinho, who may be convinced by Roma to stick around if they are able to win the UEFA Europa League crown.
