Germany defender Jerome Boateng incredibly cleared the ball off the line as Ukraine stepped up their attack on their rival’s goalpost after finding themselves one goal down as early as the 20th minute. But the hawk-eyed Manuel Neuer proved to be a rock between the posts by stopping countless shots from Ukraine’s forwards.
The persistent raids on Germany’s defence also gave Bayern Munich defender David Boateng a moment of brilliance when he cleared the ball off the line just when it was inches away from being counted as a goal, with Neuer well beaten. Several replays showed that the goal did not cross the line based on the latest goal-line technology introduced by FIFA.
