Arsenal vs Leeds United: Broken-Leg Victim Ramsey Returns As Leeds Have No Fear

The FA Cup’s Arsenal vs Leeds match will be marked with Aaron Ramsey’s return to action. The midfielder is back for Arsenal after almost 1 year since awfully breaking his leg in a physical game against Stoke.
Following his sort loan spell with Championship club Nottingham Forest, Aaron Ramsey is believed to have gained some valuable match fitness. Last Monday, the Welsh played a full game and this has apparently encouraged Arsene Wenger to include him in the roster for the Arsenal vs Leeds FA Cup match which is set to come up on Saturday.

“Ramsey is in the squad and so is Carlos Vela,” the Gunners’ manager told reporters as he confirmed the broken-leg victim’s return to football at Arsenal for the first time since February 2010.

Meanwhile, Leeds United will be boosted by the record which they were able to clinch last season as they stunned giants Manchester United at the same stage. Ahead of this weekend’s clash against Arsenal, Captain Jonny Howson has warned the Gunners that his squad don’t playing at the Emirates Stadium.

A Championship Week

Cardiff City sign another striker in their quest for promotion to the Premier League, as Sheffield United's Gary Speed makes his first signing for the Blades.

 

Queens Park Rangers

Championship leaders, Queen’s Park Ranger’s manager, Neil Warnock is lamenting the loss of Ipswich Town’s Jon Walters to Premier League side Stoke City. Warnock told BBC Radio London, "I think we're miles away. I told the directors we're a sixth to tenth position team.”

He continued, "We need two good strikers but we lost one of them to the Premier League. We thought we had him last week. It's disappointing as Walters has been my number one target now for a long time."

Cardiff City

In contrast to QPR, Cardiff City have no shortage of strikers. As well as having the division’s top scorer in Jay Boothroyd, the Bluebirds have Michael Chopra, Peter Whittingham and Craig Bellemy in the squad, and have just signed Wolves’ striker Andy Keogh on a season long loan.

Dave Jones the Bluebirds boss has also added, Seyi Olofinjana, Danny Drinkwater, Jason Koumas, Lee Naylor and Tom Heaton to the side this summer so will have to shuffle his pack if he wants to keep them all happy.

However, it looks likely that Ross McCormack will be heading out of the club, with Leeds United and Hull City the favorites to sign the talented young striker.

Tottenham vs. Leeds United, FA Cup 4th Round Preview

The FA Cup 4th Round gets under way this weekend and Tottenham, coming off an away loss to Liverpool, take on League One leaders Leeds United, the team that knocked Manchester United out of the competition.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp won the FA Cup with Portsouth in 2008Along with the other Premier League clubs, Spurs entered the FA Cup at the 3rd Round, taking on Peterborough United at White Hart Lane in early January. Peterborough is last in the League Championship table and the quality chasm separating the two sides was clear. Harry Redknapp’s chaps dispatched Peterborough 4-0, as Spurs took the first step toward fulfilling ‘Arry’s goal of the lifting the FA Cup for the second time in three years, Harry having won the competition with Portsmouth in 2008.

But Spurs’ 4th Round opponents are clearly capable of putting up stiffer resistance than Peterborough did. Leeds United come a-calling at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

The rivalry between the two clubs, on hiatus since Leeds’ descent into financial chaos and football obscurity, will conjure memories of Leeds' glory days.
 
Although they now ply their trade in lowly League One of the English Football Association, Leeds are fairly running away at the top of the table, eight points above their nearest rival, Charlton.
