UEFA Euro 2012 Canada TV Schedules - Canadian Television Networks

Canadian Soccer Fans will be treated with complete live TV coverage of the EURO 2012 in four languages.

The much anticipated UEFA Euro 2012 event which takes place in Poland and Ukraine between June 8th and July 1st, 2012 is only a few weeks away. Canadian soccer fans will have access to extensive coverage of the event in live English, French, Spanish and Italian language broadcasts. All games will be broadcast in French and English as well as 15 live matches in Spanish and Italian.

The Match kick-off times will be at 12:00 Noon and 2:45 PM (Eastern Standard Time). These kick-off times will give the working crowd a chance to slip away from the office for an extended lunch to watch the EURO 2012 live action.

All the matches will be available across Canada in English and French, Spanish and Italian language. The event is sure to draw a large muti-cultural viewing audience.

TSN will be showing all the live Euro 2012 matches in English-language on TSN and TSN 2. French-language live broadcasts of all matches will be made on RDS and RDS 2. TLN has sub-licensed the Spanish-language media rights for Canada from ESPN Inc. Mediaset Italia will be airing the live Euro 2012 matches in Italian-language.

Canada continues their mission to punching a ticket to The London 2012 Olympic Games at the CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament, as they host their final group stage match against Costa Rica tonight (Monday), at 10:30 p.m. ET on Sportsnet ONE and Sportsnet Ontario, 8:30 p.m. MT on Sportsnet West and 7:30 p.m. PT on Sportsnet Pacific.
With two tournament victories under their belt, Canada has already earned a berth in the semi-finals on Friday, Jan. 27 (match-ups TBD); with a win or draw tonight the Canadians will clinch first place in Group A.

Martin Vasquez might not turn out to be the Ideal Assistant for Juergen Klinsmann

Juergen Klinsmann recently announced that Martin Vasquez would be the assistant coach of the USA.
Klinsmann, as most fans know, was previously the coach of Bayern München. Klinsmann’s tenure lasted less than a season at the club with which he won the UEFA Cup as a player. The former striker was sacked after two embarrassing losses against VfL Wolfsburg and FC Barcelona.

Juergen’s assistant in those days was Martin Vasquez. Thus, most journalists must have winced slightly when they heard whom Klinsmann was hiring as his assistant. What must be said is Bayern was in the top three in the Bundesliga when the German was sacked. Also, Vasquez is a good friend of Klinsmann’s.

Donovan is looking likely to start against the Canadians despite missing the friendly match against Spain in the weekend.
Good news has been delivered to all USA fans as Landon Donovan is expected to start against Canada tomorrow. Donovan missed the friendly defeat to Spain over the weekend but the sight of him working out with his teammates at the Detroit Lions training complex on Sunday definitely comes as a positive sign.

Prior to that, Donovan missed two days of training and now, the man himself has declared himself fit for tomorrow's opening clash against Canada.

"I was breathing pretty hard but I feel pretty good and would expect to be fine by Tuesday," Donovan told reporters after practice at Allen Park.

1) The United States was the first country to win the CONCACAF Gold Cup. USA emerged victorious in the first edition of the competition—then an 8-team contest—which they hosted in 1991. Greece welcome Canada on Wednesday in an international friendly to be played in Larisa’s brand-new AEL FC Arena.
The game will be the first match featuring national sides to be played in the new 17,000 seat stadium that serves as the home ground for Greek Super League side Larisa.

Fernando Santos’ side are in the midst of Euro 2012 qualifying and will use the match against the Canadians as a warm-up for next month’s qualifier against Malta. Greece currently lie in second place in Group F for Euro 2012 qualifying on 8 points, two behind leaders Croatia.

Canada meanwhile are putting together a side for the upcoming Gold Cup and 2014 World Cup qualifiers. Manager Stephen Hart has called up a strong side for the Greece friendly, selecting a squad of mostly foreign-based players. Heading the side are experienced stars such as Toronto FC’s Dwayne De Rosario and PSV’s Atiba Hutchinson.

There are less than 3 months to go before Canadians are treated to complete and unprecedented coverage of the world's game, the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.  From June 11 through July 11, CBC Television, Radio-Canada Télévision, CBC's digital channel bold, CBCSports.ca and Radio-Canada.ca will broadcast more than 1000 total combined hours of the highly anticipated tournament in English and French, ensuring that Canadians will not miss a moment of the excitement from start to finish.

Host nation South Africa will kick off the tournament against Mexico on Friday, June 11 following the Opening Ceremony.  The reigning FIFA World Cup champions, Italy, will make their tournament debut against Paraguay on Monday June 14.
