Why El Clasico at the Camp Nou on Jan. 25 could end Mourinho’s Real Madrid career

Wednesday night’s crucial Copa del Rey match against Barcelona – El Clasico part II – will determine something big for Jose Mourinho, be it for the best of for the worst.
Jose Mourinho’s career at Real Madrid is taking a rather uncomfortable twist. When the former Porto, Chelsea and Internazionale manager arrived in the Spanish capital, the majority of Madridistas hailed him as the one and only man capable of offering Los Blancos what they’ve been dying for since the past few years: stylish football and immense authority in Spain and in Europe through trophies in the cabinet.

But as much as anyone can see, Real Madrid are still living in the shadow of bitter rivals Barcelona. In his first ever Clasico in charge, Jose Mourinho experienced a humiliating 5-0 defeat to eventual La Liga champions Barcelona. The Special One later claimed revenge as Cristiano Ronaldo’s sublime header in the Copa del Rey final ended Real Madrid’s title drought.

Both clubs, who clashed against each other in last season’s UEFA Champions League, reached an agreement late last week for the player’s transfer. Fabregas today passed his medical and agreed personal terms that will see him bound to the Catalans for five years.

The midfielder was unveiled at the Camp Nou earlier this morning in front of thousands of fans who welcomed him back with great enthusiasm.

"I have waited many days, many months, and many years for this moment,” Fabregas told the crowd at the gigantic stadium.

Barcelona Wants To Lay Hands On La Liga's Title At The Camp Nou Against Espanyol

A fifth Clasico for Barcelona in less than a month. Can RCD Espanyol defy Liga leader Barcelona?
Barcelona's dual chase both for the Spanish title and the Champions League has borne fruits, successfully reaching the final stage of Europe's most coveted title. Barcelona leads La Liga with 88 points, and could virtually become the champion if Real Madrid does not defeat Sevilla on Saturday at the Sanchez Pizjuan.

The influence of Lionel Messi in Barcelona's scheme is indubitable: The Argentinean is both La Liga's top scorer and assist leader, with 31 goals and 18 assists. But Lionel Messi is not Guardiola's key to success, but the organicity of the Cule squad,

Javier Mascherano and Sergio Busquets have both proven great determination and comfort playing in the back line, something that might not be necessary now that Eric Abidal and Carles Puyol have recovered their form. Guardiola might choose not to risk the Spanish international defender unnecessarily.

Gabriel Milito, on the other hand, has not been seen with the rest of the Blaugrana squad during week's training and it appears like he won't be given many chances to make it into the starting eleven. Brazilian wingers Maxwell and Adriano are ruled out due to injuries.

"People believe the Liga is already won, but it's not. We want to close the deal the sooner the better" said Barcelona's defender Carles Puyol.

“It should be a nice game. Our intention is to travel to the Camp Nou with the aim of doing a good job. If we go into the match thinking that we’ll be victims or that we’ll play to concede as few goals as possible, then it’s clear that we are favorites to lose.

“We’ve got to enter the encounter without fear. We’ve got to fight for every ball. The only trick to getting a positive result there is to hope that we play at our best and that Barca don’t have a good day.
