Brazil are gearing up to face Croatia in the opening game of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The spotlight will be on David Luiz, Neymar and company.

Brazil’s manager, Scolari, has made his choice for the squad representing Brazil at the upcoming World Cup. Remarkably, legends like Kaka and Ronaldinho were left out.

Although most outrage was caused by leaving El Gaucho and Ricardo at home, there were many deserving names that added to the disappointment of Brazil’s fans internationally. To name a few, Miranda and Felipe Luis from Atletico Madrid who had a tremendous season.

Other players that deserved a spot on the Selecao are Coutinho and Lucas Leiva from Liverpool, who also had a great season. Moreover, Lucas Moira, the PSG talent, was also inexplicably left home. Finally, Valencia’s goalie, Diego Alves, was not called either: just ask Ronaldo if he deserved a spot or not.

Ricardo Kaka, another legend who will not be able to perform in front of his own country

The Brazilians’ frustration is understandable, but Scolari’s picks were going to be unpopular either way. With so much talent, it was inevitable for players of great quality to not make it; Brazil are just that good.
