It was the 80th minute of the Tarca de Portugal match between Portuguese rivals Benfica and Porto. The league leaders were leading the second leg 2-1, 2-2 on aggregate, but were losing on away goals. The last spot in the final was at stake. It started to look as if Jorge Jesus' men would not make the final because if Benfica did not score, they would crash out in the last four.
Then Andre Gomez stepped up to the plate.
Benfica's Andre Gomes scored a wonder goal in the Portuguese Cup's semi-final game against heavyweights Porto. The Portuguese midfielder scored late into the second half, sending the home fans into joy, to help see the Eagles progress into the final, setting up a showdown with Primiera Liga side Rio Ave.
