The experienced duo have not been as involved as their manager would have liked, but Allegri has been given a major boost with their anticipated return this weekend.

After barely scraping into fourth place last season, it is safe to say that the pressure will be on Juventus and Massimiliano Allegri this season.

For the second straight term, La Vecchia Signora failed to win the Scudetto, with Inter winning it in the 2021/22 term and AC Milan following suit a year later. In addition, the club have lost some key players, including Giorgio Chiellini and Paulo Dybala, who have moved on to LA Galaxy and Roma respectively.

Juventus did start the current season on the right footing, earning a well-deserved 3-0 rout of Sassuolo, but were absolutely terrible in their most recent match against Sampdoria, where they recorded a dull stalemate and became the subject of many mocking memes for their inability to really pose much of a goal threat.

Well, heading into their upcoming clash against Roma, the Bianconeri have been given a much needed boost. According to reports in Italy, both Leonardo Bonucci and Wojciech Szczesny could return to the squad in time for Saturday's home clash against the Giallorossi.

The same report indicates that Allegri will have the final say as to what part either player has in Saturday's match, but the return of the experienced duo certainly will come as some form of encouragement for Juventus as they aim to get back on track.
