After a tense derby match, Barcelona eventually got the better of their Catalan rivals Espanyol after Lionel Messi converted a late spot-kick that would eventually turn out to be the game-winner.

But should the Blaugrana have earned a penalty?

Upon first glance, it does appear that Neymar may have handled the ball in the build-up to the resultant penalty:

This is not the first time that the Catalan side have been accused of being favoured by refereeing decisions: Real Madrid's players felt aggrieved in the recent El Clasico, notably an incident involving Neymar (again) that saw Sergio Ramos sent off.

Of course, Barca fans will see the decision as perfectly fair and that their side deserved to win. Indeed, Espanyol did have the entire match to get a positive result over their opponents, but one can't help but wonder if Lionel Messi & Co. were the fortunate recipients of a possibly debatable officiating call.
